A true pioneer of the Hindustani slide guitar, Pt. Debashish Bhattacharya has gained global recognition and had been mesmerizing audiences and artists for over four decades with his unique blend of Indian ragas and western music styles. Debashish has also invented his own hollow neck slide-guitars (the 24-string Chaturangi, the 14-string Gandharvi and the Anandi, a 4-string lap steel ukulele).
His combination of virtuosity and graceful artistry has won the heart of millions around the world. He has also collaborated with many world renowned musicians including Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussain, John Mclaughlin, Jerry Douglas and Derek Trucks. He has been nominated twice for the Grammy awards and is a Songlines and BBC award winner.
The mesmerizing vocalist Anandi Bhattacharya, who inherited the golden voice of her grandmother, became a child prodigy in a family of renowned musicians and singers. She is the daughter of Pt Debashish Bhattacharya, who has been her constant guide. She began training under Vidushi Shubhra Guha at the age of twelve. Her singing is a mixed style of the Agra, Patiala and Maihar school of vocal music.
Tanmoy Bose is one of the foremost tabla players of his generation. He is globally recognized in the world of both Indian Classical as contemporary music and therefore an indispensable member in the global fraternity of percussion. A great milestone in Tanmoy Bose’s life was achieved when Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar invited him to play regularly with him around the world.
His long tours abroad had given him opportunities to interact and play with musicians, composers, choreographers.
